The Opatija Riviera is famous for its Lungomare promenade and elegant beaches — but the most beautiful swimming spots along this coastline have no road access. Hidden between the rocks, sheltered from wind, and invisible from the shore, these secret coves are only accessible by boat.

Best Boat-Only Swimming Spots

Coves between Opatija and Volosko — Small rocky inlets with turquoise water and complete privacy. Your skipper anchors just metres from the rocks and you swim into crystal-clear water. Perfect for a morning swim before the day-trippers arrive.

South of Ičići — Sheltered bays with calm water and interesting underwater rock formations for snorkeling. Close to our base, making them perfect for short trips.

Lovran to Medveja coast — The least crowded stretch of the Riviera. Beautiful rocky beaches backed by Mediterranean vegetation, with warm water and excellent visibility.

Moscenicka Draga — A charming fishing village with a stunning pebble beach, easily reached by boat from Ičići. Much less crowded than Opatija's main beaches.

Water Quality

The Opatija Riviera consistently ranks among the cleanest coastal waters in Croatia. Water temperatures range from 22°C in June to 27°C in August, with visibility often exceeding 15 metres.
