Best Snorkeling Spots in Kvarner — Accessible Only by Boat

Kvarner's Underwater World

The waters of Kvarner Bay are among the cleanest in the Adriatic, with visibility often reaching 15-20 metres. The rocky coastline, underwater caves, and diverse marine life make it excellent for snorkeling — and the best spots are only accessible by boat.

Top Snorkeling Spots

Stara Baška (Krk) — Rocky underwater formations with excellent visibility. Schools of fish, sea urchins, and occasional octopus sightings. The white pebble bottom creates stunning light effects underwater.

Western Cres coast — Between Valun and Lubenice, the underwater cliffs drop dramatically. Rich marine life including damselfish, wrasse, and colourful anemones attached to the rocks.

Blue Cave area (Cres) — Near the cave entrance, the rocky seabed is teeming with fish that have become accustomed to the occasional visitor. The water clarity here is exceptional.

Čikat Bay (Lošinj) — Sheltered and calm, with interesting rock formations close to shore. Good for beginners and families.

What We Provide

Snorkeling masks and fins are available for rent on all our boats. Your skipper knows exactly where the best spots are on any given day, based on weather, currents, and water clarity.

Tips for Snorkelers

The best visibility is in the morning before any afternoon wind stirs up the water. Water temperatures range from 20°C in June to 26°C in August. Bring an underwater camera — you'll want it.
