What to Bring on a Boat Trip in Croatia — Complete Packing List
Your Boat Trip Packing List
Packing right can make the difference between a perfect day on the water and an uncomfortable one. Here's everything you need — and a few things you should leave behind.
Essentials — Always Bring
High SPF sunscreen — The reflection off the water doubles your sun exposure. Apply before boarding and reapply every 2 hours. SPF 50 minimum recommended.
Sunglasses with strap — Polarised lenses are best for reducing water glare. A strap prevents them from falling into the sea.
Hat — There's limited shade on a boat. A hat with a brim protects your face and neck.
Swimsuit and towel — You will want to swim. Bring a quick-dry towel to save space.
Water shoes — Croatian beaches are mostly pebble or rocky. Water shoes make getting in and out much more comfortable.
Drinking water — Stay hydrated. The sun and wind dehydrate you faster than you'd expect.
Nice to Have
Light jacket or windbreaker — Even on warm days, the speed of the boat creates wind. A light layer for the ride is useful.
Waterproof phone case — Protect your phone from splashes and enable underwater photos.
Snacks and drinks — You're welcome to bring food and drinks on board. Avoid glass bottles — bring cans or plastic containers instead.
Underwater camera — The snorkeling is too good not to capture.
What to Leave Behind
Large suitcases, valuables you're afraid to get wet, high heels, heavy books. Keep it light and waterproof.
